- Cold Saw – Most versatile, excellent end finish, low to moderate volume
- Band Saw – High or low volume. Great for large sizes or cutting bundled material. Produces lots of chips.
- Shear – High volume. Each size needs it own set of tools. Will result in end deformation.
- Double Cut Shear – High volume. Each size needs it own set of tools. No end deformation.
- Laser – Equipment is expensive but can produce an excellent finish and very precise end cut. Can also produce unusual ends
